Rachel and Alex's relaxed celebrant wedding ceremony in North Yorkshire

A couple exchanges vows under a floral arch indoors. The bride in a veil, groom in a blue suit, with an officiant between them; serene atmosphere.

On a lovely summer’s day, we celebrated Rachel and Alex's wedding at the charming Whinstone view, Great Ayton. This venue, a hidden gem in North Yorkshire, is surrounded by beautiful countryside and felt so intimate.

As their guests arrived at Wray's barn, they enjoyed drinks on the terrace and eagerly awaited the start of what would be an unforgettable day.

Once their family and friends had taken their seats in the barn, which was dressed in sashes and florals by Very Eventful, everyone was warmly welcomed and encouraged to sit back and listen to the happy couple's love story.

It was finally time for Rachel to make her entrance with her father and bridesmaids. As she entered the room, smiles shone from their guests and Alex too.

As they joined hands, we began their personalised wedding ceremony by welcoming everyone and speaking about how life is full of choices and everything happens for a reason… like how accepting a new job can lead you to finding 'the one'.

We explained what a happy marriage means to them, what they love most about each other, the little traits and strengths that they adore, as well as poking fun at their differences too.

Their differing hobbies, baking and hockey, were used as metaphors for a relationship speaking about the recipe for a successful marriage and the game rules/teamwork which go into it.

Of course, we had to talk of their similar interests too, including their favourite food and beach trips. We even added song lyrics from concerts they had attended which created a few giggles amongst their guests, especially when we mentioned Busted’s 'that's what I go to school for' which linked to their story perfectly.

Their story so far was then told in poem form which captured their first meeting all the way to their wedding day, featuring their workplace meeting, their favourite beach location and their first impressions of each other.

Delving deeper into chapters, we then told parts of their story in more detail setting the scene for key moments like their first kiss and proposal, before bringing everyone back to the present with Rachel and Alex’s ring exchange and promises.

With words on their future to follow, we reintroduced them as husband and wife before a decorative certificate signing with their best friend and maid of honour.

They exited their ceremony with a standing ovation and round of applause. As they stepped outside, guests cheered them again with a shower of confetti and bubbly drinks on the terrace!

A gorgeous day - congratulations again Alex and Rachel!
