Real Wedding | Mr & Mrs Aspen | Lodore Falls, The Lake District

Updated: 7 hours ago

Empty wedding venue with white chairs facing a decorative gazebo. Green hills and trees in the background. Calm and serene atmosphere.

Surrounded by natural beauty, Siobhan and Tom exchanged vows last year under the idyllic garden gazebo at Lodore Falls, The Lake District. The breathtaking scenery featured panoramic views of Cat Bells Fell and Derwentwater Lake, creating the perfect backdrop for this new chapter in their love story.

Their bespoke ceremony highlighted the importance of the Lakes to this couple's story. We discussed the reflections on the lake's water, using them as a metaphor to highlight the changes over the years. From the bride visiting this place as a child, to now celebrating her wedding to the love of her life in the same location. It was a beautiful moment in a place filled with so many cherished memories for the couple.

As the sun shone on the gorgeous lawns and gardens, the guests gathered to witness Siobhan and Tom tie the knot.

It was almost time to welcome the bride, her dad and bridesmaids but first, we asked their guests to put their phones away using a football pun.

This was a great choice for the groom, who loves a bit of football, we held a red card up and explained that any guest caught breaking the 'off-phone rule' will be called out by the 'celebrant referee,' getting a laugh from their guests!

Once the announcement was complete, it was finally time to make some core memories and Siobhan made her grand entrance over the bridge as 'I get to love you' was sang by their live musician (Erika Ignata Music).

It was a very warm welcome, in more ways than one on their glorious day.

When speaking about their upcoming marriage, we weaved in references to poet William Wordsworth, fitting for a wedding in the Lake District.

Most importantly, we highlighted their own thoughts on what a marriage should be, making connections to their story so far which led perfectly to a reading given by the Bride's brother, who recited 'Wedding poem' by Whitney Hanson Poetry.

This reading paired well with their views on marriage and their ceremony location, linked to nature and water, it spoke of how the river may be winding but you will always find your way back to the sea.

Following on, we began to tell their love story with another reference to a Lake District legend, Beatrix Potter, talking about stories, how they begin and how exciting it is to write more. In this moment, guests were reminded about how this pair came to meet, how their romance began, wedding planning and all the cherished memories in between! With James Bond puns and a beautiful proposal, their was a mixture of laughter and reflection on the amazing time they'd had together so far.

The time had come to declare their commitment in front of thirty of their closest friends and family. Their handwritten vows were beautifully written and their ring exchange featured the cutest ring security!

The happy couple's declaration of love was strengthened further with a decorative certificate signing, held beneath the gazebo.

As they walked back up the aisle as husband and wife, they were showered with confetti and 'under the sea' from The Little Mermaid was played, adding to the joyful, bright atmosphere which continued throughout their stunning day.
