Real Wedding | May and Joe | The Parlour at Blagdon, Newcastle Celebrant

On a calm October day, May and Joe hosted their intimate wedding celebration at the idyllic The Parlour at Blagdon, near Newcastle. The couple held their indoor, celebrant-led, wedding ceremony in the venue's cosy ceremony room, 'The Smithy', which was beautifully dressed in peach and champagne decor and florals by How Eventful.

May made her entrance with her parents at her side, while Joe and their forty guests watched on with excitement for the day, as they caught their first glimpse of the bride.

Once May and Joe had greeted each other, their ceremony began by briefly talking about modern technology bringing two people together followed by welcoming everyone to their day. We took a moment to highlight their journey together so far, filled with adventures and travelling to see each other, adding to the idea that love knows no distance. This was linked to the journey's their friends and family had made to join in with the celebrations. We thanked everyone for coming and honoured those who were no longer with us too on behalf of the couple.

When talking about their relationship, we described the couple's similarities and differences as well as the little, everyday things, they do for each other in their daily lives which they love and appreciate. There were moments of emotion, as well as laughter as we told everyone about their 'love checks', descriptions of each other, and their shared interests too.

Before they exchanged rings, we delved into their story as we reminded their guests of how their love began. From meeting online, getting to know each other with nightly video calls with 6500+ miles between them, to finally meeting in person and creating a life together, we told tales from those first moments to their gorgeous proposal.

As we came to the ring exchange, we reminded May and Joe what these rings signify before their Maid of Honour brought them to the front where they were placed on their fingers. As the happy couple held hands, we recited a poem for them to finish with 'I do' in unison.

As we told their wishes and dreams for their future, including their hope for a Dachshund to add to their family, it was time to reintroduce them as Mr and Mrs to their nearest and dearest - we heard a round of applause as they exited into the courtyard and then the lawn, where their guests were invited to throw confetti before enjoying the drinks reception.

May and Joe then cherished a private moment alone, where they exchanged their handwritten vows, made heartfelt promises, and took some time, just the two of them, before rejoining their guests for a fantastic day filled with food, drinks, and singing their hearts out on karaoke!
