Tucked away in the Northumbrian Countryside, family and friends gathered to hear the love story of Sophie and Tim who celebrated their wedding at Halton Grove. The rain stayed at bay for their outdoor celebrant ceremony on the venue's main lawn, encased in beautiful greenery and stone walls.
Once their excited guests were seated and reminded to put their phones away, Sophie, her Dad, and her Bridesmaids made their grand entrance with 'Out of the Ordinary' playing in the background.
Once the happy couple greeted each other at the top of the aisle, their big day finally began by welcoming their loved ones and asking them to treasure every moment they have together today.
During their ceremony, we spoke of the couple's personalities, why they love their partner and their similarities/differences, with metaphors about baking and a pint Guinness woven in, highlighting the effort that goes into a marriage and the awards.

Naturally, you can't go into this union without knowing your partner and this starts with a meet cute. Therefore, we took the opportunity to remind their guests of their story together over the last 10 years with a poem. This poem recounted their early adventures, initial impressions, celebrations and, of course, the proposal!
In their early relationship, they travelled miles to see each other. We spoke of how they managed a long-distance relationship and how they were now together, joining their paths for life which linked perfectly to the 'Wedding Poem' by Whitney Hanson, read by one of Tim's brothers.
With more of their story told, it was time to start the next chapter with their rings and start the celebratory drinking! After they said

'I do' the couple chose to toast their union with a Whiskey Quaich ceremony.
As the liqueur was poured into the Quaich, we likened Whiskey t0 a marriage adding that when the couple drinks from this cup, they agree to keep their promises to each other forever and raise a toast to the blending of their families too.
Shortly after, we introduced them to their family and friends as husband and wife followed by a decorative certificate signing.

Now that the whiskey was swigged, the parchment signed and the rings exchanged, it was time to reintroduce Sophie and Tim as Dr and Mrs. Their ceremony came to a close with applause and cheers, walking back up the aisle together under a sword arch - ready to celebrate into the evening with food, more drinks, and a ceilidh!
Congratulations -
cheers to Sophie and Tim!! x
