Frequently Asked Questions!

Q: What on earth is a celebrant anyway? A: Looking for a bespoke ceremony that's all about YOU? Celebrants are storytellers, writing and delivering a personalised script that captures your unique love journey. No two ceremonies are the same, because every story/couple is different! So forget about standard scripts and embrace the magic of a tailor-made ceremony that's fun and memorable. Involve your guests, have creative freedom and choose a celebrant you vibe with!

Q: Do we get to meet you before we book? A: Yes! Absoultely, we can organise a zoom to get to know eachother, I can also do face to face meetings depending on location.

Q: How much are your services? A: You can find all prices on relevant sections of my website (links below), weddings start at £600 and includes script drafts, ceremony stationery, unlimited contact and delivery on the day. For the full list see 'Weddings & Vow Renewals'.

Q: Are your ceremonies legal? A: Unfortunately not at the moment! You will need to give notice of marriage & organise a simple ceremony at your local register office with 2 witnesses to sign your paperwork (ask Meg for more info). Then, on your wedding day, you can enjoy a ceremony you've helped create with your celebrant, a more meaningful ceremony full of heart and personality. You still exchange rings and write your own vows but you can also add symbolic elements (if that's your cup of tea), religious or fun readings and involve your guests (singalongs are my fave!). Your ceremony is basically a blank page and the possibilities are endless! Choose personality over legality, choose a celebrant. Still not sure? Book in for a free meeting.

Q: What is a celebrant? A: A celebrant writes and officiates personalised wedding ceremonies, naming ceremonies and vow renewal ceremonies based on the preferences and desires of each couple/family. Couples who choose to have a celebrant ceremony will be treated to a unique experience, with every script being tailored to suit each couples personalities and wishes. An independent celebrant will never use the same script twice, no prior templates shall be used when drafting and finalising your ceremony. All special elements listed can also be adapted and altered to suit your theme and ideas. A celebrant can perform a ceremony at any time or location, meaning you will have no boundaries for your special ceremony. We are there to simply listen, write and tell your story and aren't bound to any religion or ideologies. To learn more, please follow me on my social media!

Q: When should we book our celebrant? A: As soon as possible! Some celebrants get booked up well in advance so it's best to book as soon as you know you've found the right celebrant for you!

Q: Where do you cover? A: I'll travel anywhere my couples want me to go! So far I've officiated weddings in The Lake District, Northumberland, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, County Durham and Darlington but I'm happy to travel anywhere in the UK and beyond. Please get in contact for travel quotes. Recommended Celebrant at Hornington Manor (Yorkshire), Whinstone View (Middlesbrough) & The Peak Edge (Chesterfield)

Q: What happens if you're ill on our wedding day? A: No need to fear! On the very slim chance I am so ill I can't officiate your ceremony, I will call upon my UKSOC friends to help! We all colour code our scripts etc.. to make it easier for another celebrant to pick it up & officiate. This is VERY unlikely though.

Q: Do you have any qualifications? A: I trained with the UK Society of Celebrants! I qualified back in 2021 & have recently won the 'Rising Star Award' for 2023. I also have an English Language & Linguistics degree.
