Happy Couple
The purpose of a commitment ceremony

Ideal for couples who do not wish to have a legal formality, civil partnership or wedding, but they wish to still mark their relationship by expressing their feelings and love for one another. Like other ceremonies, this can be held at any venue at any time. As an independent celebrant, I can help you plan and officiate this ceremony.

It can either be a quiet, intimate ceremony for close friends and family or a much bigger affair!

Within this ceremony you will vocalise your life-long commitment to each other in front of your guests and express your dedication to your partnership. Special elements and readings can also be included. Also take a look at my personalised poetry service to see if this is something you would like to include. The Process
The commitment ceremony process
  1. Contact me via mobile, email or my online form.

  2. I will be in touch to arrange an initial 'get to know you' appointment.

  3. We will meet either in person or via skype/zoom. This is when I will start to get to know you both as a couple and what you want for your special day. I want to know how you met, your family, your hobbies and everything that defines you as a couple, as well as gathering information such as your venue, your theme and possible music choices etc.....

  4. I will go away and begin drafting a ceremony script of your day. A rehearsal can also be discussed at this time.

  5. A final draft will be confirmed 4 weeks before your event  so there is time to make last minute adjustments.

  6.  I will be present to perform your unique script on your special day and you will be given a copy of your script to keep as a memento of your day. Ceremonies are usually between 20-45 minutes.
